Sprinter

Hot new action arcade game for Palm WebOS based cell phones. Sprinter offers fast paced game play with simple controls but lots of challenge. You take on the role of a man running non stop from platform to platform trying to make your way to the ending doors. Along the way there are a number of obsticals layed out. And rotating cubes that are colored to denote value of points. Watch out for the robots that wander the platforms touching them is instant death. You can however jump over them if you time the jump right.

Controls

Game play is simple you are running and the screen keeps moving. Press the jump button in the top left corner to jump, and if in front of a ladder this will cause you to climb the ladder. Timing here is key, so you must be very quick on the press. Also at times you may be forced backwards towards the left of the screen by an obstical, press anywhere on the right side of the screen to speed up.

Scoring

Collect as many of the colored cubes as possible. These are the points you will need to unlock new levels. There are 3 color of cubes, each having a different point value.

Purple = 1

Red = 5

Orange = 10

The points do not count to your overall score till you complete a level. And the count is reset everytime you die.

Obsticals and Enemies

There are 2 different size stones that will be found through out the levels. There is a small one that you can jump over in a single jump, and a larger one that will take 2 jumps to clear. Watch out if you can stuck behind one of these you will stop moving forward and are in danger of being pushed off the screen.

For the larger stones press the jump button multiple times and you will clear it. Be aware if you are pushed back on the screen you are in danger of being easily pushed completely off the screen. So press anywhere on the right side of the screen to speed up.

There is a robot that will be seen either stationary or wandering the platform randomly. These robots will zap you and kill you instantly if you touch them. They can however be jumped over. You must take into account your jump height and speed of the level as these factors will change on a level basis and will effect your clearing over a robot or any obstical.

Achievements

There are a number of achievements that can be unlocked in game play. These will popup as you are playing the game telling you you just unlocked them. The factors unlocking them vary but are only during game play. The ones unlocked are tracked and only saved after you complete a level. You can view the ones you have unlocked from the Achievements and Stats page on the main menu.

Levels

The base package comes with a number of predesigned levels. Each with a set score required in order to play them. The points collected from the levels in the game will effect what levels are unlocked for you to play.

Custom Levels

The levels that came with the game are not the only levels available. You can create your own levels, or download more that I will be creating and posting here. For more info about creating levels go here
