Courier's Simplistic User Interface

The user interface of Courier is all about simplicity. Very few overly complicating buttons and settings have to be messed with.

User interface for Courier
Main Courier E-Commerce Management Interface

Point of interest on the main interface include:

  • Last Run: Showing the Date and time of the Last Synchronization that occured.
  • Last Results: This is a running log of the events that have been carried out by Courier between your Accouning software and your E-Commerce shopping cart.
  • Auto Run, checking this and setting an interval will set Courier to automaticaly run a synchronization at the interval set.
  • The bottom of the interface shows the current and overal task and progress of the system.
  • Synchronize Now will start Courier Synchronizing your Accounting Software such as QuickBooks, and your E-Commerce Shopping Cart system.
  • The toolbar accross the top of the screen contains quick links to the synchronization settings for your accounting package, the settings for the shopping cart, and all the currently install addons.

Courier has a built in reporting system.

Currently the only report generated is the Invoice Import Report. From this report you can see what invoices have been imported into your accounting package from your shopping cart. This running tally contains information about the invoice id on both sides of the system. As well as if they were imported successfully.

More reports will be comming soon, and will be available through a free upgrade upon release.

Finaly there is the Settings menu which contains the bulk of the functions.

Settings Menu
Courier Settings Menu

In this screenshot you see the OSCommerce Setting menu. This link pertains to the shopping cart that you currently have a module installed for. If you have UberCart shopping cart installed it would read UberCart Settings. From this menu you would setup the link to the shopping cart.

Next option on the Settings menu is the QuickBooks Point of sale Settings. Like the OSCommerce Settings option this settings pertain to the Accounting package module that is currently installed. This menu aids in setting up the options to connect to your Accounting packge, QuickBooks Point of Sale in this case. As well as the synchronization options that occur during synchronization, in this example QuickBooks Point of Sale and OSCommerce. Options such as to synchronize item data, customer data, category data, and invoices.

A key feature of Courier is its expansion system through various addons that are available. And more that are on their way. Addons can be turned on and off through the addon manager. Also new addons can be purchased and downloaded throught this interface.

Each currently installed addon has a settings option that appears bellow the seperator bar. From these menu links you can adjust the settings and functionality of your currently installed Courier Addons.

We hope that this brief walk thru of the simplicity of the Courier E-Commerce Managment system, has been helpful. Look for other walk-thru's on more specific processes in the program on the site, and more to be posted shortly.

We have created Courier to be user friendly and simple.
Once everything is setup you only have to check that it is running and Courier does the rest.
